창조구라회에서도 쪽팔려 하는 거짓말들....

다음의 글은 호주의 창조과학 사이트인 Answers in Genesis(이하 AiG)에 몇 년 전부터 올라와 있던 글이며, 그동안 창조과학이라는 이름으로 만들어진 거짓 증거 중에서 더 이상 사용하기 민망할 정도로 심각한 수준의 거짓말들을 더 이상 "사용하지 말아야 하는 논거들"이라는 제목의 글로 나열한 것입니다.
재미있는 것은 이 중에는 현재에도 자주 볼 수 있는 거짓말들이 다수 포함되어 있으며, AiG의 글을 다수 번역하여 게시하고 있는 한국 창조 과학회 역시 일부를 아직도 주장하고 있다는 것입니다.

“Darwin recanted on his deathbed.”
Many people use this story; however, it is almost certainly not
true, and there is no corroboration from those who were closest to
him—even from Darwin’s wife Emma, who never liked evolutionary ideas.
Also, even if it were true, so what? If Ken Ham renounced the Bible,

의 글을 통해서 다윈이 임종시에 진화론을 철회했다는 것은 사실이 아니라는 (또는 아닐 가능성이 높다는) 요지의 글을 올렸습니다.
따라서, 이런 종류의 글을 퍼 나르는 기독교인은 "무엇인 사실인가?"로 판단하는 것이 아닌 "무엇이 내 마음에 드는 말을
하는가?"로 자료를 판단하는 사람들이라 할 수 있습니다.
“Moon-dust thickness proves a young moon.”
For a long time, creationists claimed that the dust layer on the
moon was too thin if dust had truly been falling on it for billions of
years. They based this claim on early estimates—by evolutionists—of the
influx of moon dust, and worries that the moon landers would sink into
this dust layer. But these early estimates were wrong, and by the time
of the Apollo landings, NASA was not worried about sinking. So the dust
layer thickness can’t be used as proof of a young moon (or of an old

AiG보다 훨씬 더 뻔뻔한 한국 창조 과학회는 http://www.kacr.or.kr/library/itemview.asp?no=636&category=E03&orderby_1=editdate%20desc&page=2 의 2번 항목에서 아직도 낡은 거짓말을 주장하고 있습니다.
“NASA computers, in calculating the positions of planets, found a missing day and 40 minutes, proving Joshua’s “long day” [Joshua 10] and Hezekiah’s sundial movement [2 Kings 20].”
Though this story is not promoted by major creationist
organizations, it is a hoax in wide circulation, especially on the
internet.
Essentially the same story appeared in the somewhat unreliable 1936 book The Harmony of Science and Script-x-xure by Harry Rimmer. Evidently an unknown person embellished it with modern organization names and modern calculating devices.
Also, the whole story is mathematically impossible—it requires a fixed reference point before Joshua’s long day. In fact, we would need to cross-check between both astronomical and
historical records to detect any missing day. And to detect a missing
40 minutes requires that these reference points be known to within an
accuracy of a few minutes. It is certainly true that the timing of solar
eclipses observable from a certain location can be known precisely. But
the ancient records did not record time that precisely, so the required
cross-check is simply not possible. Furthermore, the earliest
historically recorded eclipse occurred in 1217 BC, nearly two centuries
after Joshua. So there is no way the missing day could be detected by

(Note that discrediting this myth doesn’t mean that the events of
Joshua 10 didn’t happen. Features in the account support its
reliability—for example, that the moon was also slowed down. This was
not necessary to prolong the day, but this would be observed from
Earth’s reference frame if God had accomplished this miracle by slowing
Earth’s rotation. See Joshua’s long day.)

한때 매우 유행했던 거짓말 입니다만, 이것 역시 누군가에 의해서 의도적으로 만들어진 거짓말이지요. 한국 창조 과학회마저도 2004년 7월에 http://www.kacr.or.kr/library/itemview.asp?no=523&category=B01&orderby_1=editdate%20desc&page=5 와 같은 글을 올렸습니다만, 아직도 이런 주장을 하는 기독교인들을 종종 볼 수 있습니다.

역시 창조 과학이라는 이름으로 거짓을 생산하는 곳 중에 하나이기에 지구 reference frame 등의 말을 써가면서 지구의
회전 속도가 달라졌다는 주장으로 여호수아의 설화를 변호해보려 합니다만, 지구의 회전 속도가 급격하게 달라질 때 전지구적으로
발생하게 되는 재앙에 대해서는 어떻게 설명할지 궁금합니다.
“Woolly mammoths were flash frozen during the Flood catastrophe.”
This is contradicted by the geological setting in which mammoths
are found. It’s most likely that they perished toward the end of the Ice
Age, possibly in catastrophic dust storms. Partially digested stomach
contents are not proof of a flash freeze, because the elephant’s stomach
functions as a holding area—a mastodon with preserved stomach contents
